After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in human resources in 1983 from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Ms. Gioioso later continued his education with a Master of Arts in clinical psychology, with honors, from LaSalle in 2003. He pursued his studies while providing superior service from 1994 through 2007 as a manager of organizational development and from 2008 to 2020 as director of Organizational Development with the Philadelphia Gas Works, where he was responsible for all corporate training, compliance, employee relations, and workforce management and investigated any charges of discrimination and harassment.

Since 2020, Mr. Gioioso has prospered as executive coach, chief executive officer and president of Gioioso Coaching and Consulting, a premier firm providing career advice for individuals who are regressing in their careers or are under threat of career derailment, as well as high-potential employees preparing for promotion. He has proven to be adept at creating succession plans, performance improvement plans and employee development plans with a track record of developing high potential/leadership development programs.

Mr. Gioioso’s numerous certifications include an ICF Member Badge from the International Coaching Federation; as a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) by the National Association for Addiction Professionals; as an Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) by the Employee Assistance Certification Commission; as an EQ-i/EQ360, Multi-Health Systems Inc. and as a Professional in Human Resources by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). Currently, Mr. Gioioso is chairperson of the Skilled Trades Board, Philadelphia Academies Inc. and a board member of Community Center at Visitation in Kensington and of the Community College of Philadelphia.

To remain aware of changes and advancements in his field, Mr. Gioioso maintains affiliations with the Society for Human Resource Management, the Employee Assistance Professionals Association, the International Coaching Federation, the National Association for Addiction Professionals and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

Mr. Gioiso credits his professional success to his sense of curiosity and passion to apply what he has learned. He also feels that his natural inclination to enjoy people has played a role in his achievements, as he believes that everyone deserves an opportunity, a philosophy that allows more room for compassion to those who apply it in their professional life, facilitating the process of healing and growth.

As a career highlight, he cites being fortunate enough to leverage opportunities throughout his career in order to progress in an incredibly supportive company as a director of organizational development and interacting with C-Suite individuals in the organization, as well as thought leaders and politicians in Philadelphia. He also takes pride in takes pride in having been nominated, along with only 100 others, and selected for participation in Leadership Philadelphia, which allowed him to sit and speak with the city’s mayor and council members.

Mr. Gioioso’s professional goal in the coming years is to become a nationally recognized executive coach. He is aiming to be seen as someone who creates value for an organization through human resource consulting. Part of his personal aspiration is to continue to help as many individuals and families regain their lives through substance abuse programs.
