Quincy Hightower, Chief Executive Officer at Hi-Mark Construction Group, Inc. has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in construction administration.

Currently active as the chief executive officer of Hi-Mark Construction Group, which was founded by Yudell Hightower in Middletown in 1957, Mr. Hightower has served the firm in a variety of roles since 1990. He gained valuable initial experience with Hi-Mark Construction Group as a laborer working on commercial construction and multi-family projects, a post in which he supported the superintendent in the oversight of project activities. As a site warehouse supervisor from 1991 to 1993, Mr. Hightower operated as a site warehouse supervisor, managing the daily receiving of materials, maintaining vehicle and tool records and assuring that the company adhered to safety practices and records for Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance. Promoted to the position of construction manager for Hi-Mark which he held from 1993 to 1999, Mr. Hightower coordinated field inspections, quality control meetings and created punch lists and reports.

Mr. Hightower joined Verst Group Logistics Inc. as a warehouse supervisor in 1999 and remained in that position until 2007. During this time, his responsibilities included order selections, loading and unloading of trucks, and inventory control. Mr. Hightower additionally managed the day-to-day operation of a warehouse with 50 employees.

Upon returning to Hi-Mark in 2007, having been recruited as the vice president of business development, Mr. Hightower increased market penetration by securing new customers and expanding the scope of the existing customer base. Since 2012, he has excelled as the company’s chief executive officer, providing strategic leadership, direction, management and vision while leading and promoting talented employees, instituting progress tracking, documenting milestones and ensuring completion and compliance with construction industry regulations and inspections for efficient, clean and safe sites.

Mr. Hightower has completed coursework in the executive business program at Dartmouth College, the Turner School of Construction Management and Allied Construction Industry School. He has been further affiliated with the Cincinnati Chamber’s Minority Business Accelerator Program and the African American Business Development Association. In addition, Mr. Hightower has been certified in OSHA forklift training.

Mr. Hightower attributes his success to his family, particularly his grandfather and his father, for the dedication and the work ethic they instilled in him. As a career highlight, he cites becoming chief executive officer of Hi-Mark. Watching his father and grandfather grow the business inspired him to work harder for the company and so receiving that blessing from them to become CEO was something in which he takes a great deal of pride. In the coming years, he hopes for the continued growth of the company and strives to double that growth by about $24 million.
