Since 2006, Ms. Betancourt has flourished as president of the Monica Betancourt Group (MBG), a premier real estate firm representing buyers and sellers in the Miami metropolitan area including Coral Gables, Pinecrest, Coconut Grove, Brickell, Miami Beach, Palmetto Bay and South Miami.

After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business management in 1980 from the University of South Florida, Ms. Betancourt served in an accounting firm and subsequently built the accounting department for her husband’s company that produced jet engine parts for commercial jetliners. When the company was sold 1996, she dedicated her time to volunteering on boards at her children’s schools and some charitable organizations. Ms. Betancourt considered it a natural progression for her to get her license and open up a group under a brokerage, where she could service clients such as herself. She thereupon prospered as a realtor from 2005 to 2007 with the Stewart de la Vega Group before opening her own practice.
Ms. Betancourt attributes her success to the fact that for her, it is all about the clients. She understands that each client has a different story, and so she always tries to listen to what they have been through and where they are coming from so that they can connect. As a career highlight, she mentions the glowing and complimentary peer reviews she receives from other realtors and brokers in their community. In the coming years, Ms. Betancourt’s top priority is continuing to grow and prosper with MBG.
