After initially obtaining an Associate of Arts in liberal arts in 1964 from East Central Community College in Decatur, Mississippi, Mr. Everett followed with a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Mississippi State University in 1966. He later continued his education with a Master of Science in vocational relocation and community counseling in 1975 from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg and a Master of Science in public administration in 1977 from Georgia State University in Atlanta.
Throughout his career, Mr. Everett has prospered in human resources administration, overseeing the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring, consulting with top executives on strategic planning and serving as a link between an organization’s management and its employees. He excelled as a human resources consultant with the United States Social Security Administration for over three decades, as human resources director for the state of Mississippi and since 2005 in private practice as a human resources consultant with Jerald P. Everett Consulting.
In honor of his service during his lengthy career, Mr. Everett has garnered many honors that include a Distinguished Worldwide Humanitarian Award from Marquis Who’s Who, Alumnus of the Year from East Central Community College in 2021, a certificate of appreciation of outstanding service from the Southeast Association of Disability Examiners, a Certificate of Appreciation for Service as Director of the Mississippi Department of Human Services Credit Union and Recognition for Outstanding Service from the Educational Employees Credit Union.
As a career highlight, Mr. Everett takes great pride in providing employment for so many people. Now retired, Mr. Everett would like to do more volunteering and church work.
