Luigi Delfini, Vice President at AVA Companies, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in management of consumer goods distribution.
Following obtaining a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and actuarial science with honors from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2008, Mr. Delfini has excelled in the distribution of quality meats and food products, having prospered as a meat cutter, butcher and meat manager at ShopRite prior to his education. After joining AVA Companies in Hicksville in 2011, he excelled as account analyst and category manager from 2011 to 2014, director of operations from 2014 to 2015 and as vice president since the latter year. In this capacity, he oversees day-to-day operations, budget, and management of over 300 staff.
Mr. Delfini attributes his success to his upbringing and taking advantage of opportunities that came his way. He grew up in a family who did not have much money, but everyone worked hard. He has had many great mentors such has his high school math teacher that he always looked up to, several college professors who took interest in him, as well as Lenny Lombardi, the President and CEO of AVA Companies, who believed in him since the day he joined the company.
As a career-best achievement, Mr. Delfini cites becoming vice president of AVA Companies and attracting substantial customers to the company. He worked with the president of the company for many years to turn the company around to profitability. Personally, his greatest achievement is being admitted into Mensa International, the largest and oldest high-IQ society in the world. His goal in the coming years is to continue to grow professionally and personally. He is also looking forward to mentor other people and help them pursue their own dreams.
