Following obtaining a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, Mr. Gerard has prospered as founder, chief financial offer and chief executive officer of leading investment firms Gerard Management LLC and New Mexico Capital Partners. His areas of specialty include real estate development, business startups, creative negotiation on acquisitions, setting up contractors and working with engineers and architects as well as with financial partners on projects.
Beginning with $28 in his pocket and $20,000 in debt, Mr. Gerard has remodeled and flipped over 300 properties, along with obtaining somewhere around 15 commercial buildings, three dental offices and helped start a couple of coffee shops and restaurants, as well as some production facilities. He considers his most notable achievement creating jobs and keeping people proud to be working in New Mexico. He strives to hire people from within the state only, attempts to serve nonprofits, and tries to build New Mexico one block at a time.
Mr. Gerard’s goal in the coming years is to have a better work-life balance with his family, taking on larger individual projects with a stronger, larger, and centralized team with which to split his responsibilities.
