Michael Reinsma, North American Regional Manager at Caterpillar Global Mining, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in construction machinery administration.

Since 2020, Mr. Reinsma has prospered as North American Regional Manager at Caterpillar Global Mining, which designs, manufactures and markets draglines, electric mining shovels and rotary blast-hole drills employed in surface mining, as well as providing aftermarket replacement parts and services for its machines, and also offers engineered replacement parts, maintenance and repair labor, technical advice, and refurbishment and relocation of machines.

Following obtaining a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1986, Mr. Reinsma joined Caterpillar as its western region mining sales manager, where he excelled from 1986 to 2000. He then served as Caterpillar’s district manager in Brisbane, Australia from 2000 to 2002 and Jakarta, Indonesia from 2002 to 2005. He then provided superior service as Caterpillar’s global mining product support manager and global account manager in Peoria, Illinois from 2005 to 2009,  Australasia regional mining manager in Melbourne, Australia from 2009 to 2011, Americas North Western Region mining manager in Denver from 2013 to 2016 and United States and Canada Region mining manager in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada from 2016 to 2020.

Mr. Reinsma attributes his success to his knowledge of their products that came from his father, who was a research engineer at Caterpillar for 38 years. As a career highlight, he cites working with customers around the world about improving their operations and efficiency through the use of Caterpillar products. He works to keep Caterpillar on track with what the customers and dealers’ expectations are. In the coming years, Mr. Reinsma believes Caterpillar will lessen its dependence on coal products to focus on nickel, silver, gold, copper to focus a lot of their efforts and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and employ alternative means than diesel fuel as it goes forward.
