Joseph Thomas Wilson, Chief Executive Officer at IT Publishing, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in music.
An expert in sound recording and engineering, Mr. Wilson has composed music since he was a child. When he was 10 years old, he was already a guitarist for the band Imposing Stone, and he has since performed with and served as a sound engineer and chief engineer in several other performance groups, notably Myth, the It Band and Sound Trax Plus.
Mr. Wilson wrote “Music,” the first computer-generated song in the world and the Song of the Year in the United States in 1983. His impressive portfolio of work includes writing and composing “Pen in Hand” and “You Can Do it” in 1983. On July 4, 1984, Mr. Wilson performed in front of over a million people during a 14-hour event in Ocean Beach, California.
Amid his successful career in music, Mr. Wilson served in the U.S. Navy from 1972 until he was honorably discharged in 1976. He studied at Indiana University for several years between 1976 and 1985.
Highly regarded in his field, Mr. Wilson is a lifetime member of the American Society of Authors, Composers, and Publishers. He also enjoys membership in the American Federation of Musicians and the Louisville Federation of Musicians.
Notably, Mr. Wilson is a recipient of the Marquis Who’s Who Distinguished Worldwide Humanitarian Award and the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Additionally, he has been featured in Who’s Who in Entertainment.
