After initially obtaining an associate degree from Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois, Ms. Gough subsequently earned a Bachelor of Arts in legal studies, summa cum laude, from University of Illinois Springfield in 2004. In what she considers to be a career highlight, she later continued her education with a Master of Arts in legal studies from the aforementioned university in 2021. Ms. Gough currently provides superior service as a senior editor with the University of Illinois, in which her responsibilities include editing dossiers for the dean’s office at the College of Education.
Ms. Gough attributes her success to her stubbornness, dedication, and determination. She became involved in her profession when she was working on her associate degree at Parkland College, where she minored in literature. Through one of her professors, she developed an interest in editing. He was really impressed by her writing and started mentoring her, and it was he who really ignited her interest and encouraged her to become a professional editor. Passionate about helping protect victims of abuse, Ms. Gough’s goal in the coming years is to pursue a doctorate of law.
