Eiichi Jumawan, Owner and Executive Director at Pearlside Boxing and Fitness Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in boxing and fitness instruction.
Originally hailing from Japan, Mr. Jumawan obtained a Bachelor of Science in health and physical education from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1980. A two-time national boxing champion, he was a member of Team USA from 1977 to 1980 and became the Hawaii chief of officials for USA Boxing Inc. from 1985 to 2011. Additionally, Mr. Jumawan functioned as the chief of officials for Amateur Boxing of Hawaii until 2016 and also worked as a sales agent for New York Life Insurance Co. between 1984 and 2009.
Since 2017, Mr. Jumawan has found much success as owner and operator of Pearlside Boxing and Fitness Inc. in Kapolei, Hawaii, in which he provides superior service instructing children in fitness and boxing, as well as providing classes for people with Parkinson’s disease to help them cope with their condition. Over the course of his career, Mr. Jumawan has also served as a referee and judge for amateur and professional boxing. Currently he is the only Silver Level Coach in Hawaii and he is a Bronze Coach Clinician who travels the country teaching “Bronze Level Clinics” for USA Boxing. As a career highlight, he cites his representation of the United States in the Olympic-style boxing competition at the 1978 men’s world championships, in which he traveled to East Germany, Yugoslavia and Indonesia.
