Silvana Laura Dominioni, Director of Environment, Health, and Safety at Delaware River and Bay Authority, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in compliance and environmental health and safety.

With more than 25 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Dominioni has excelled as the director of environment, health and safety with the Delaware River and Bay Authority since 2015. Prior to this appointment, she had served as a safety, environmental and security manager for Mars Drinks, part of Mars Inc., from 2012 to 2015, an environmental and industrial health manager for AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals from 2007 to 2012 and a project manager for the Duquesne Light Company from 2002 to 2007. She previously worked as a civil associate with Michael Baker International Inc. from 2000 to 2002, a staff engineer with CH2M Hill from 1999 to 2000 and an environmental engineer in conjunction with Kelly Scientific for Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products from 1997 to 1998. Ms. Dominioni began her career as a research assistant at the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey from 1995 to 1996.

Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Dominioni pursued an education at the Stevens Institute of Technology, from which she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering in 1996. She subsequently concluded her formal academic efforts at Carnegie Mellon University in 1999, earning a Master of Science in civil engineering. In addition to these accomplishments, Ms. Dominioni garnered her certifications as a hazardous materials manager, a safety professional and an industrial hygienist.

Beyond her primary responsibilities within the field, Ms. Dominioni remains affiliated with the American Industrial Hygiene Association, the Alliance For Hazardous Material Professionals, the National Safety Council, the American Board of Industrial Hygiene, the Board of Certified Safety Professionals and the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management. She has further contributed to the board of the Croda Community Action Committee. As a testament to her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Dominioni was proudly presented with the Energy Star Award from the EPA on behalf of AstraZeneca.

Ms. Dominioni attributes her success to her unwavering drive as well as her passion for learning and expanding upon her skill set. Inspired by her experiences with pollution at her local beach during her youth, she was initially drawn to chemical engineering before deciding upon a career in environmental health and safety. Among the many highlights of her career, she fondly recalls helping to raise $25,000 for a coworker whose pension was threatened by his cancer diagnosis. Looking toward the future, Ms. Dominioni hopes to usher the Delaware River and Bay Authority further into the realm of sustainability while exploring additional opportunities in consulting.
