With many years of experience to his credit, Mr. Sung has excelled as a city council member for the city of Carrollton, Texas since 2017. Notably, he was recognized as the first Asian American to become elected as a council member in Carrollton as well as the first Korean-American to hold such a position in North Texas. Prior to this position, he worked for many years as a farmer in Korea before relocating to America.
To support his professional endeavors, Mr. Sung pursued an education at LeTourneau University, from which he earned a Master of Business Administration. He likewise obtained his certification as a mediator in the state of Texas, his license as a master Korean interpreter from the state of Texas and his license as a real estate broker. Attributing his success to his desire to help others in any way that he can, he was drawn to his position to provide his local Korean community with better representation. Among the many highlights of his career, Mr. Sung is proud to serve as a bridge between the Asian community and the greater population of Carrollton, especially in advocating for understanding one another’s cultures.
