With over three decades of experience to her credit, Karin L. Hansen has cultivated a successful career across several vocational interests. Well regarded for her dedication to civic advocacy, she has volunteered with Disabled American Veterans since 2012, operating in a number of roles within the organization. A decorated veteran herself, Ms. Hansen honorably served with the United States Army from 1989 to 1996, earning a National Defense Servant Medal for her service in 1991. In her other professional endeavors, Ms. Hansen has primarily operated as an independent financial coach since 2020, assisting clients and other state organizations with balancing books and ensuring they follow a proper budget. She previously served as an independent consultant for Princess House from 2018 to 2020. Ms. Hansen has also dedicated herself to the education of others, having operated as an adjunct math professor at Enterprise State Community College from 2003 to 2012.
As part of her vocational journey, Ms. Hansen pursued a formal education, earning a BS in secondary education and teaching at Kansas State University in 1996 and an MS in education at Troy University in 2003. She subsequently continued her studies at Manhattan Christian College in 2016, where she achieved a bachelor’s degree in leadership and biblical studies in 2018. In addition to her academic credentials, Ms. Hansen is also certified in Ramsey financial coaching by Ramsey Solutions. Over the course of her career, Ms. Hansen has largely attributed her success to her perseverance, dedicated work ethic, the guidance of her mentors, and the support of her family. In light of her numerous accomplishments, she is most notably proud of her work with Disabled American Veterans, as she was able to reinvigorate the organization and bring its many members back together in a profitable manner. In the coming years, Ms. Hansen hopes to continue advancing within the organization so she may be better positioned to assist more veterans and their families.
