Hannah Carlock, Director of Public Policy at The Arc of Indiana, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in disability advocacy.
Since 2018, Ms. Carlock has served The Arc of Indiana as the director of public policy. In this post, she is working with Indiana State House legislators to pass legislation that will improve services for people with disabilities. She testifies before committees on different bills and travels around to listen to individuals with disabilities and their families. Ms. Carlock’s areas of expertise include lobbying, politics, public policy, branding, marketing, and communications. In preparation for her professional endeavors, she attended Ball State University and graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in telecommunications and journalism.
Prior to her current post, Ms. Carlock was the communications director with Hathaway Strategies from 2017 to 2018, the press secretary with the Indiana House from 2015 to 2017, and the public information officer with the Ripley County Emergency Management Agency from 2013 to 2015. She additionally worked as a news director, a news intern, and a contributing reporter at the start of her career. For her achievements, she received the First Steps Champion Award in 2022 and the Employee of the Month award from the Indiana House of Representatives in 2016, and was named to 20 in their Twenties by the Indianapolis Business Journal in 2021. Ms. Carlock attributes her success to networking and being kind to others, and in the coming years, she hopes to become the chief executive officer of The Arc of Indiana.
