Jak Daniel Teel, CPRP, Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Cottonwood, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in civil administration.
Since 2019, Mr. Teel has worked as the Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Cottonwood, Arizona. In this capacity, he oversees five different divisions in the city, including the recreation center, sports programming, aquatics programming, youth programming, and outdoor facilities. Prior to this post, he served as a senior recreation coordinator III with the city from 2010 to 2019.
Mr. Teel’s areas of expertise include leadership and aquatics. In preparation for his career, he attended Northcentral University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration, management, and leadership in 2021. He is a Certified Park and Recreation Professional, a Certified Aquatic Facility Operator, and a Certified Pool Operator. Through the American Red Cross, he additionally earned designation as a Water Safety Instructor Trainer and a Lifeguard Instructor.
For his accomplishments, Mr. Teel was recognized with a Supervisor of the Year Award in 2021 and a Parks and Recreation One Team of the Year Award in 2020. He maintains membership in the National Parks and Recreation Association and the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association. In his spare time, he enjoys staying active, football, and the outdoors.
Mr. Teel attributes his success to his understanding and problem-solving abilities. He is a calculated risk taker who is not afraid of hard work. Among his career achievements, he is proudest of building Cottonwood’s first park in over 30 years. In the coming years, he hopes to hold the post of community services director.
