Lynda Salas, head of claims at MS Reinsurance, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership as an executive in insurance and reinsurance organizations.
Ms. Salas’ extensive expertise in insurance and reinsurance comes from working over four decades in the insurance industry while ingratiating herself with its many educational opportunities. She brought her knowledge of financial management, insurance operations and risk management to successfully transition to head of Claims America at MS Reinsurance in 2022. Her contributions to MS Reinsurance in global specialty insurance and reinsurance operations are defined by both scope and depth; from performing day to day technical accounting to long-term strategic development. Her wealth of knowledge and experience speak volumes of her drive and desire to learn and be better.
Ms. Salas earned her CPCU (Chartered Property and Casualty and Underwriting) designation, and six additional insurance and reinsurance associate degrees in reinsurance management, financial statements, claims, reinsurance, insurance services and risk management. In addition to her numerous associate degrees, she is a certified Senior Professional Public Adjuster. Her career related academic achievements continued at Excelsior College in Albany NY where she earned a Master of Business in Risk Management and Insurance in 2021.
Ms. Salas is successful in the industry because of her technical acumen, desire to continue learning and willingness to take on new experiences for growth. In 2017, she authored a white paper relating to drones which has been published in various business journals and presented at an international claims conference, Miami Latin America Claims Reinsurance Forum. Ms. Salas not only has a desire to learn, but a desire to give back. Throughout her professional journey she has been active with several insurance related organizations including the Association of Professional Insurance Women (APIW).
Ms. Salas was inspired by her mother’s perseverance and dedication to her five children, attributes that have contributed to her success. Her husband’s support of her passion for educational opportunities also has motivated her to succeed. The events of 9/11 and the emotions it evoked when the subsequent claims were being handled deepened Ms. Salas’ commitment to her work. What she does is important to helping people recover from tragedies and other misfortunes. Looking toward the future Ms. Salas aspires to continue achieving her goals at MS Reinsurance and hopes to attain her Associate Degree in Surety and Bonds to further broaden her expertise in the industry.
