David E. Daw, founder and president of Davicorp Inc. and Systemation Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry.
With over five decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Daw has cultivated a career of excellence as an inventor. Specializing in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, he is the founder and president of Davicorp Inc., a marketing consulting firm, and Systemation Inc., which he founded in 1979 and 1992, respectively. Through Systemation Inc., he develops new products for the sheet metal industry. Mr. Daw originally began his career in 1968, working in sales for 10 years at Gripnail Corp, a pioneer in fastening development for use in the HVAC industry.
Having patented numerous inventions over the course of his career, Mr. Daw is well-regarded for his creative mind. One of his most notable creations is his patented Cornermatic® Machine, which was introduced to the sheet metal industry in the mid-1990s. The device eases the task of installing metal corners for duct connections by eliminating much of the overly-intensive labor for workers. Mr. Daw hopes to see his latest invention, the Bendermatic®, enter the market by the end of 2023.
Prior to embarking on his vocational journey, Mr. Daw pursued a formal education at Bryant University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1968. In addition to his academic credentials, he has also been formally certified in his field by the American Management Association. As part of his dedication to his profession, he also remains affiliated with the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA). To commemorate his accomplishments, Mr. Daw was recognized by Snips Magazine as the SNIPS 2021 Sheet Metal Industry Icon.
In light of his fulfilling career, Mr. Daw largely attributes his success to his perseverance and self-discipline. To wit, he has lived by these guiding principles since sixth grade, and three years of high school at Valley Forge Military Academy (VFMA). After sailing boats alongside the president of Gripnail, he was offered his first chance to prove himself in the industry. Looking to the future, Mr. Daw looks forward to continuing his work as the head of his companies, and managing the second generation of Cornermatic® Machines under the Systemation Inc. brand.
