Richard T. Osvai, the assistant director of campus safety and security at South Piedmont Community College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of law enforcement.
Hailing from nearly five decades of service on behalf of his community, Mr. Osvai has earned distinction through his work in the field of law enforcement. Presently, he serves as the assistant director of campus safety and security at South Piedmont Community College in Monroe, North Carolina, where he bears responsibility for managing new safety initiatives, increasing awareness among students on campus, and conducting drills. Having initially joined the campus security staff in 2013, Mr. Osvai has dedicated his career to demonstrating positivity and optimism in everything he does.
Mr. Osvai first became involved in the field of law enforcement as a response to bullying, which compelled him to enter a profession through which he could direct his energy toward helping others. Beginning his career in law enforcement as an officer within the Trenton Police Department in New Jersey between 1974 and 2005, he served as a crime scene detective for many years, during which time he helped participate in solving the murder of Kristen Huggins, a resident of Trenton who died in 1992. Throughout the course of the case, Mr. Osvai was proud to work alongside other police agencies, gather testimonies and evidence and, ultimately, track down the killer.
In accounting for his success, Mr. Osvai largely credits his upbringing. Having been raised in Trenton, the everyday values instilled in him by his parents and local community helped build the foundation upon which he now stands. Looking toward the future, he aspires to gradually draw down on his responsibilities and enjoy a well-earned retirement.
