Robert Eugene Powell, Retired Computer Operator at Greater Akron Right to Life, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
A retired computer operator, Mr. Powell started his career as a clerk at Premier Screening, where he worked from 1987 to 1989. From 1989 to 1995, he was a computer operator at Sage Computer Services. Most recently, from 1997 to 2000, He was a computer operator for Greater Akron Right to Life.
Alongside his primary professional career, Mr. Powell was a founding member and treasurer for the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Portage County. He was a candidate for the President’s Trophy in Ohio in 1992. In preparation for his work as a computer operator, Mr. Powell graduated from Kent State University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science.
In recognition of his achievements, Mr. Powell was a candidate for the National Hall of Fame for Persons with Adapted Abilities in 2021. He is also the recipient of Awards of Excellence from the Ohio Rehabilitation Association in 1989 and 1990. From 1992 to 1993, he was named International Man of the Year, and in 2019, he received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
Mr. Powell is the author of the trademarked slogan “Seek examples, not excuses.” The phrase was registered in July 2021. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Powell is a member of the Knights of Columbus.
