Since 2018, Mr. Walker has excelled as the president of Walker Innovative Learning & Leadership LLC. As a captain with the Bucyrus Police Department since 1997, he has also excelled since 2016 as the department’s community relations coordinator. In these capacities, he handles public records and recordkeeping, deals with media and social media, supervises and administrates personnel, and advises on policies and procedures. Mr. Walker aims to consult with young police officers to mold them into better communicators and help them become more community oriented. In preparation for his career, Mr. Walker attended North Central State College and graduated with an associate degree in criminal justice and police science in 2012.
Mr. Walker is eminently qualified in his field. In 2019, he graduated from the Police Executive Leadership College, and in 2000, he became a certified instructor at the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy. Additionally, he is an Advanced Crisis Negotiator, a Certified Crisis Intervener, an Intervention Specialist and a Trauma Debriefer. In 2020, Mr. Walker co-founded the Law Enforcement Ally Program. Since 2014, he has served as the founder and executive officer of the Bucyrus Police Explorers Post #229, among other positions. For his professional excellence, he was named Exploring Leader of the Year in 2016 and earned a Life-Saving Award and Ohio Senate Citation in 2000. In the coming years, Mr. Walker plans to complete his bachelor’s degree and publish a book.
