John M. Walsh III, Chief Executive Officer and President of TIG Real Estate Services Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in commercial real estate.
Since 1994, Mr. Walsh has excelled as the Chief Executive Officer and President of TIG Real Estate Services Inc. In this position, he handles commercial property management and development. The company manages, leases, develops, buys, sells and provides investment opportunities for projects they develop or acquire. Mr. Walsh’s company has five offices in Texas, including locations in Austin, Houston and Victoria, and two offices in Dallas.
Alongside his primary endeavor, Mr. Walsh has found success as the senior managing partner of Parapet Capital Management since 2011. Prior to this role, he was a partner and the executive vice president of the Trammell Cow Company from 1978 to 1994. From 1973 to 1975, he was the president of the Walsh Electric Company Inc.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Walsh attended the University of Houston and completed coursework in electrical engineering. In 1973, he earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology and mathematics from The University of Texas at Arlington. In 1978, Mr. Walsh graduated from the Texas Tech University School of Law with a Doctor of Jurisprudence in real estate, oil and gas, securities, business and labor law. Following his graduation, he was admitted to practice by the State Bar of Texas in 1978.
To keep abreast of his field, Mr. Walsh has maintained affiliation with numerous professional organizations related to his areas of expertise. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Additionally, he is a member of the Counselors of Real Estate, the Urban Land Institute, and NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association.
For his accomplishments, Mr. Walsh received the Robert O’Donnell Award from the Urban Land Institute Advisory Services Program in 1978. In 2009, he was recognized with a Partnership Forum Moderator Award from the Urban Land Institute’s North Texas District Council. In his spare time, he enjoys scuba diving.
