Since 1987, Mr. Kopels has excelled as the owner and architect of Ron Kopels Studio. He holds expertise in residential, commercial and institutional projects, including for art foundations and synagogues. In this role, he supervises and works with a team of four other professionals. Mr. Kopels prepared for his career with a bachelor’s degree from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, which he earned in 1981.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Kopels was a partner with Arc Development and a project architect of Butler Rogers Baskett Architects. He garnered experience with Sottsass Associati in Milan, Italy, and with a large firm in New York. Among his achievements, Mr. Kopels was one of the youngest awardees of the 1982 Fulbright Fellowship for private studies in Florence, Italy. In his spare time, he enjoys painting.
