He also held similar positions with the Swata Protective Services in Greenbelt in 2018 and the Capital City Protective Services between 2017 and 2018. As a health care specialist, he similarly worked as a paramedic for Pediatric Health Choice in Leesburg, Florida, in 2017 and for MedFleet in Pasco County between 2016 and 2017. In the early stages of his career, Mr. Murphy worked with the Prince George County Fire and Rescue in 1992.
As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Murphy pursued a formal education, originally earning a diploma as an intermediate-level emergency medical technician from the College of Southern Maryland in 2006. He subsequently earned an Associate of Science in emergency medical services at Keiser College (now Keiser University) in 2012. In addition to his academic credentials, Mr. Murphy also holds a paramedic license and is certified as an emergency vehicle operator. Ever committed to his professional endeavors, he remains affiliated with the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians.
To commemorate his accomplishments in the field, Mr. Murphy has been honored with numerous accolades, including a Merit Award from the U.S. Security Associates in 2014 and Recognition of Heroism from the United States Department of Homeland Security and the Transportation Security Administration in 2008. In light of his fulfilling career, he is notably proud to have saved many lives throughout his time in the field by utilizing his skills and medical training. To wit, Mr. Murphy sought to enter the field of public service and security for many years, having overcome many challenges that influenced and inspired him to make a difference in his community.
