He also oversees corporate aspects, including onboarding, daily management, problem-solving, planning, fundraising, budgeting, and sales. With Mr. Amigo at the helm, the company notably has a contract to build prototypes for the U.S.Marine Corps and plans to work with the U.S. Army.

Blackburn Energy, Inc. is named after Howard Blackburn, a fisherman who was lost at sea and severely injured but survived and became a successful entrepreneur in Massachusetts. Deeply admiring and adopting that determination, Mr. Amigo resolved to become unstoppable in his own way by achieving his goals and starting a business. Among numerous professional highlights, Blackburn Energy, Inc., has won top awards for its innovations from the Technology & Maintenance Council’s American Trucking Associations and other organizations. For his inventions that have enhanced the energy efficiency of vehicles and related apparatus, Mr. Amigo has nearly 20 patents in the United States, the People’s Republic of China, Russia, Japan, and South Africa. He also holds more than 25 patents in the medical, finance, clean energy, and telematics fields. Attributing his success to creativity and perseverance, Mr. Amigo hopes to expand Blackburn Energy, Inc., in the U.S., extend its reach globally, and help improve the technologies used in third-world countries.

Prior to establishing the business, Mr. Amigo spent much of his 25-year career as an executive and a practicing attorney, including as senior or general counsel for corporations. Educated entirely in Massachusetts, he is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, a Master of Science in international economics from Suffolk University, a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and criminal justice from the University of Massachusetts, and a diploma from Malden Catholic High School. Mr. Amigo also has been certified as an investor and as a commercial driver of tractor-trailers. Married with four children, he serves as a speaker in his community, is a youth hockey coach, supports local food banks, and is a member of local law enforcement associations.
