Edwin Moore, senior advisory engineer and president of Moore Nuclear Energy, LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Business Owners for dedication, achievements, and leadership in nuclear energy research.
With more than 44 years of experience in his field, Mr. Moore has held numerous positions and responsibilities within this highly specialized energy sector. He has been the technical lead for numerous studies for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). He is also a published author and patent holder, as well as a recipient of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Award for Excellence, which he cites as the highlight of his career.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University in 1972, Mr. Moore spent the early part of his career working at Dupont from 1972 to 1991. His experience at the aforementioned company included roles as a shift supervisor, a senior supervisor, an area supervisor for the company’s SRS plutonium finishing facility, a project liaison, and a startup leader for the Replacement Precipitator Project. Mr. Moore concluded his tenure at Dupont as a facility manager at the company’s New Special Recovery (NSR) Facility.
Mr. Moore next provided his skills to Washington Savannah River Company beginning in 1991, serving as a manager of Pu planning and special assignments, manager of mission planning, and manager of materials management integration. Mr. Moore retired from Washington Savannah River Company as a senior advisory engineer in 2002. He continued his engineering advisory role independently until the creation of Moore Nuclear Energy, LLC in 2006, where he currently excels as the president and senior advisory engineer. A devout Christian and religious scholar, he earned a Master of Divinity and Master of Theology from Erskine Theological Seminary in 2006 and 2009, respectively. In the coming years, Mr. Moore hopes to write another book on historical theology.
