With five decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Justen has cultivated a fulfilling career as a specialist in the field of financial and government law. Since 2009, he has served as a Freedom of Intelligence Act officer at the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). As part of his duties in the field, he manages record requests for his business from the public, primarily as they pertain to the Freedom of Intelligence Act. Mr. Justen originally joined the NMFS in 1973, working with the organization as a management program analyst for United States government documentation until 2009. Additionally, he worked for five years in a general accounting office.
Prior to embarking on his vocational journey, Mr. Justen pursued a formal education, originally earning a Bachelor of Arts in economics at Texas A&M University in 1971. He subsequently continued his studies at Florida Atlantic University and received a Master of Arts in economics in 1972. In conclusion of his collegiate endeavors, Mr. Justen achieved a Juris Doctor at the Concord Law School at Purdue University Global in 2008. To commemorate his accomplishments, both professional and academic, he has been honored with 28 Special Act Awards for Competence in Fisheries Management and two NOAA General Counsel’s Awards. Attributing his success to his positive upbringing and dedicated work ethic, Mr. Justen is proud to have won numerous prominent court cases for his company throughout his career, especially those in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in Atlanta, Georgia.
