Mr. Dinan is a semi-retired farmer and small business owner who has been involved in agriculture since 1964. At the age of 14, he joined the family business, eventually forming a partnership with his father to oversee day-to-day operations. Mr. Dinan continued to operate the farm until his retirement in 2016. He was previously active as a former board member of the Clayton County Farm Bureau.
Aside from his agricultural pursuits, Mr. Dinan has also been involved in various civic and community activities. He is a founding member of the Iowa Coalition of Mental Health and Aging, and the past president of Clayton County Substance Abuse Services. In 2018, he ran as a candidate for the position of Clayton County supervisor and has been vocal as a local animal rights advocate. These endeavors highlight his commitment to the betterment of society as well as the causes that he holds dear.
In addition to his professional and civic involvement, Mr. Dinan cherishes spending time with his family. He has been married to his wife, Betty, since 2003, and together, they share a blended family. They have nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Dinan finds great joy in the company of his loved ones and treasures moments with his grandchildren. In his free time, he indulges in hobbies such as fishing, hunting, bowling, listening to music, and traveling.
Mr. Dinan plans to continue his involvement in mental health advocacy and support small businesses that face challenges due to the changing political and corporate landscape. He envisions dedicating time to his farm and devoting quality time with his family. Mr. Dinan’s commitment to agriculture, community service, and family serves as an inspiration to those around him, and he remains an influential figure in his community.
