Since 2015, Ms. Kong has excelled as a board-certified music therapist at the University of Rochester Medicine’s Golisano Children’s Hospital. She previously worked as a board-certified music therapist at the Hochstein School of Music & Dance from 2014 to 2018 and at Buffalo-Niagara Music Therapy Services from 2014 to 2015. Ms. Kong began her career as a music therapy intern at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare in 2012. To keep abreast of her field, she has been a member of the American Music Therapy Association since 2009. She has also maintained affiliation with numerous professional organizations related to her area of expertise, including the New York State School Music Association, the Music Teachers National Association and the National Association for Music Education. Ms. Kong is additionally a member of Pi Kappa Lambda and Phi Eta Sigma.
In preparation for her career pursuits, Ms. Kong attended the Nazareth College of Rochester, graduating in 2012 with a Bachelor of Music in music therapy. She continued her higher education at Florida State University, earning a Master of Music in music therapy in 2013. In addition to her formal degrees, she holds a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Music Therapy Certification which she earned through the National Institute for Infant and Child Medical Music Therapy in 2013. For her accomplishments, Ms. Kong was the recipient of multiple scholarships to Nazareth College and was named to the dean’s list from 2006 to 2010. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, sightseeing, visiting friends and spending time outdoors.
