Mr. Schurgers draws on more than four decades of experience as a proven expert in business intelligence and economics. Since 2005, he has served as a managing director at Integris International LLC, a global security intelligence and risk management company. As a member of the organization, Mr. Schurgers specializes in national security, economic espionage, intellectual property protection, fraud prevention, ethics and compliance management, and political and economic risk assessments. In the field, he works with clients to ensure their assets are secure and their various security needs are met, conducting a great deal of casework in fraud prevention and investigation.
Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Schurgers excelled as the vice president of crisis and security management at Reemtsma Cigarettenfabriken GmbH, a subsidiary of Imperial Brands, from 2000 to 2004. Additionally, he was a general manager for business intelligence and investigations at Control Risks between 1998 and 1999. At the onset of his career, Mr. Schurgers operated as a senior officer for a United States government agency from 1982 to 1998.
As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Schurgers cultivated his higher education, ultimately achieving a Master of Business Administration at the University of the Armed Forces, summa cum laude, in 1986. Over the course of his collegiate career, he completed coursework in various academic disciplines at several different schools. To wit, he studied international management development in Switzerland, general management at the Harvard Business School, security executive development at The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania, and international management at the University of Texas.
Ever committed to his professional endeavors, Mr. Schurgers remains affiliated with several pertinent organizations, including the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) International, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners Inc. and the International Association for Counterterrorism Professionals. Adjacent to his primary interests, he also maintains his dedication to civic advocacy, having assisted with international relief efforts in Haiti, The Bahamas and the Caribbean for many years. In light of his fulfilling career, he has largely attributed his success to his perseverance and integrity. Accounting for his achievements, Mr. Schurgers is proud to have gained the trust of many industry professionals throughout his time in the field.
