Jesus Antonio Merejo, city manager for the City of Port St. Lucie, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the public works industry.
With more than 35 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Merejo has cultivated a fulfilling career in the field of public service and facilities management. In 2023, he became the city manager for the City of Port St. Lucie in Florida, having previously served as the chief assistant city manager for the city from 2019 to 2023. He originally joined the city’s public services management team in 1989, working as the chief wastewater plant operator until 2019. In his current leadership role, Mr. Merejo oversees various city operations, including the police department, public works, utilities, parks and recreation, planning and zoning jobs, construction, and finances.
As part of his dedication to his profession, Mr. Merejo remains affiliated with several key organizations, including the Florida City County Management Association, the American Public Works Association and the International City/County Management Association. He also previously pursued a formal education, earning a bachelor’s degree in business at Warner Southern College (now Warner University) in 2002. To commemorate his achievements, he has been honored as a Top Performer by the City of Port St. Lucie. Attributing his success to the guidance of his colleagues and mentors, Mr. Merejo is particularly proud to have built a new utilities organization for his city during a period of financial decline.
