Kandy Kaye Horn, MBA, JD, Chairman of the Horn Family Foundation Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in nonprofit administration.
Since 2014, Ms. Horn has found success as the chairman of the Horn Family Foundation Inc. in Houston, Texas. With expertise in economics and nonprofit leadership, she previously served as a campaign worker for Pete Ricketts during his run for the governorship of Nebraska. Over the course of her career, Ms. Horn has successfully worked as the chair of fundraising for the Houston Food Bank, the Culinary Institute and other nonprofit organizations.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Horn attended Texas Christian University, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1978. In 1979, she studied petroleum engineering at Texas A&M University, and later matriculated at The University of Texas at Arlington, where she obtained a Master of Business Administration in 1981. In 1983, Ms. Horn concluded her higher education at the Harvard Business School, graduating with a Doctor of Philosophy in economics and a Juris Doctorate.
Ms. Horn has maintained affiliation with numerous professional organizations throughout her career. She was the past president of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association and served on the board of the University of Texas Medical Branch. She has also been a member of the Junior League of Houston, Gulf Coast Mensa and American Mensa.
Among her accomplishments, Ms. Horn considers helping others through her nonprofit work the highlight of her career. She attributes her success to her personal relationship with Jesus, and lives by the motto: “treat other people the way you want to be treated.” In her spare time, Ms. Horn enjoys reading.
