In this capacity, he works on an on-call basis to expedite the reconstruction of public infrastructure, including buildings and roads. For his long and loyal service to FEMA, Mr. Aziz was notably bestowed with an Achievement Award in 2018. After embarking upon his professional journey as a mechanic in his native country of Pakistan, Mr. Aziz pivoted his focus to civil engineering so that he could participate in different projects throughout the country. After earning a Bachelor of Science in 1971, he went on to immigrate to the United States and eventually studied at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, from which he received a Master of Science in transportation and highway engineering in 2000. Throughout the course of his subsequent career, he is most proud to have lent his aid to those suffering from various disasters, and to have guided them back to renewed prosperity. In accounting for his success, Mr. Aziz largely credits the influence of his parents, who instilled in him a sense of good manners and a zeal for education. Looking toward the future, he aspires to continue growing, making a difference and leaving a positive legacy for his children and grandchildren to enjoy.
