In 1971, Mr. Matos began his career as a manager for the payroll system with the Colgate-Palmolive Company in the Dominican Republic.

In preparation for his career, Mr. Matos earned a high school diploma from a school for expert accountants in 1971. He went on to attend Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in economics and a minor in accounting in 1980. He has also been greatly inspired by multiple mentors, including Mario Gabelli, Carl H. Tiedemann, Barbara Warga, and his father, Lucas Matos. While pursuing his college education, Mr. Matos worked full-time for the Colgate-Palmolive Company.

In 1981, Mr. Matos immigrated to the United States. He attributes his success to his expertise as an economist and his commitment to his field. During his college education, he was recognized as the best in cost accounting, and his professor worked for Colgate-Palmolive Company. Through his professor, Mr. Matos received his first job offer, and was eventually promoted twice within the company.

Alongside his formal professional endeavors, Mr. Matos is a member of Tifereth Israel. He contributes his time as a volunteer, helping to provide food for families in need and supporting his synagogue. Mr. Matos also gives back 10% of his earnings through donations. In his spare time, he enjoys car racing and playing chess.
