Brad Sheffield

Title: Senior Vice President
Company: Synovus Bank
Location: Statesboro, Georgia, United States

Brad Sheffield, the former senior vice president at Synovus Bank, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of finance.

Having accrued more than two decades of valuable expertise in his chosen field, Mr. Sheffield earned distinction as the senior vice president and regional retail sales manager of Synovus Bank in Statesboro, Georgia. Beginning as a part-time teller in 2003, he subsequently advanced to numerous roles of varying responsibility, including in operations, treasury management, merchant services, compliance, and retail marketing. From 2012 until 2022, he notably held a leadership position over the southern Georgia and northeastern Florida retail regions. Bearing a particular affinity for the field of consumer banking, Mr. Sheffield’s areas of expertise reside in small business strategies and lending, as well as the optimization of retail processes and the handling of special projects.

Before venturing onto his vocational path, Mr. Sheffield studied at Georgia Southern University, where he attained a bachelor’s degree in 2001. Though he initially hoped to specialize in mechanical engineering, he was persuaded by his class partner to switch career tracks and work in banking. Following this period, he went on to attain a Master of Business Administration in 2003. Since then, he is most proud to have been selected out of 2,600 applicants to join Leadership Georgia in 2019, having already received recognition among the Georgia Southern University 40 Under 40 and a Jimmy Yancey External Customer Covenant Award in 2014. Additionally, Mr. Sheffield was elected to serve as the vice chairman of the Leadership Georgia Bankers Association’s board of directors in 2022.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Sheffield is gratified to have distinguished himself through his intrinsic empathy and compassion on behalf of his clients, as well as his penchant for striving to find the best route forward for those encountering financial difficulty. Among the best lessons he has learned, he most values the wisdom of the golden rule to treat others how one wishes to be treated. Long dedicated to service on behalf of his community, he has served as a sports coach outside of his primary professional endeavors.

In accounting for his success in finance, Mr. Sheffield largely credits the culture of the company for which he has worked, and the inspiration of the many great mentors and leaders he has met along the way. Looking toward the future, he aspires to continue serving as a positive influence to others, and to give back to his community in whatever way he can.
