Mr. Dupré is a shareholder and manages top strategic accounts, blue chip customers, and commercial relationships while supporting the operations team, facilitating deeper client relationships, and increasing customer engagement at the company founded in 1980 by his father Reggie Dupré. The proud son initially planned to start his own company with no intention of joining the family business after earning a Bachelor of Science in business management focused on entrepreneurship from Louisiana State University and working for major energy services providers. After a sharp decline in the oil and gas market, however, Mr. Dupré began working at Dupré Logistics LLC in 2016 as a logistics analyst, later being promoted to area operations manager and then director of operations prior to his current role. He is most proud of providing critical leadership as the director of operations, fixing a financial crisis in 24 months during which the company went from losing a million dollars to operating in the black again.
Dupré Logistics, LLC started more than 40 years ago as a fuel delivery transportation company, picking up bulk fuel and delivering it to a retail station. Mr. Dupré says it was founded because his father owned a delivery station, and a fuel retail station and had problems receiving reliable delivery service. Thus, his father decided to fill that gap for fuel stations, started the company with two trucks, and the business has continued to grow. Today, the company operates about 700 trucks, 1300 trailers, and employs 1000 truck drivers. For decades, it has been named the perennial winner of industry accolades including but not limited to the National Tank Truck Carriers Grand Award, Inbound Logistics Top 100 Trucker and 3PL (third-party logistics) Provider; the Women in Trucking Association Top Company for Women to Work for in Transportation Award; and the Transport Topics Top 100 For-Hire Carrier, Top 100 Dedicated Contract Carrier, and Top 100 Freight Brokerage Firm. Attributing his success to the sense of responsibility instilled in him by his parents, Mr. Dupré aspires to work at higher executive levels for one or more organizations, whether in transportation and logistics or another field during the next five to 10 years. The married father of one child still plans to start his own company.
