Alex M. Sandhaus, MBA, Managing Director of Optima Asset Management LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in asset management and investment services.
Mr. Sandhaus is an accomplished financial professional with more than 30 years of experience to his credit. He currently excels as the managing director of Optima Asset Management LLC, a role he has held since 2012. In this position, Mr. Sandhaus’ job is to raise assets for the company’s products from institutional clients. From 2004 to 2011, he garnered experience as the director of Deutsche Bank.
Mr. Sandhaus was the senior vice president of Lehman Brothers Inc. from 2000 to 2004. He held the same role at Salomon Smith Barney Holdings Inc. from 1994 to 2000. From 1991 to 1994, Mr. Sandhaus was an assistant vice president with UBP in Geneva, Switzerland, after which he immigrated to the United States.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Sandhaus attended Université de Lausanne, obtaining a Master of Business Administration in finance in 1991. He completed coursework in negotiation and presentation with Krauthammer and additional coursework on derivatives with the International Finance and Commodities Institute in 1994. Eminently qualified, Mr. Sandhaus completed his Series 7 and 63 exams with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) in 1994.
Alongside his primary endeavors, Mr. Sandhaus has been a strategic adviser and angel investor for Meritas Technology since 2020. He attributes his success to his father’s unwavering commitment to survival derived from his experience escaping the Holocaust. Mr. Sandhaus believes that even accomplishing 5% of what his father accomplished would be enough for him. In the coming years, he hopes to find a new challenge in asset management in a different asset class.
