William Scott Becker, Senior Associate of Natural Capitalism Solutions and Executive Director of the Presidential Climate Action Project, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in nonprofit climate activism and sustainable development.
Since 2011, Mr. Becker has found success as a senior associate of Natural Capitalism Solutions. The organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the mission to build an economy in service to life through innovative solutions and regenerative practices. Alongside this role, Mr. Becker excels as the executive director of the Presidential Climate Action Project, a position he has held since 2007.
From 2011 to 2021, Mr. Becker was the founder and co-director of The Future We Want. He served as a regional director for the U.S. Department of Energy from 1995 to 1997 and was the special assistant to the assistant secretary of energy with the U.S. Department of Energy from 1995 to 2007. Mr. Becker began his professional pursuits as a counselor to the administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration from 1989 to 1991.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Becker attended the U.S. Defense Information School in 1965 and served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1968. For his service, he received a Bronze Star Medal. Alongside his primary roles, he has found success through his written work as well, co-editing “Democracy Unchained” and authoring a book chapter in “Democracy in a Hotter Time.” Mr. Becker also authored “The 100-Day Action Plan That Saved the Planet” and “The Creeks Will Rise.”
To keep abreast of his field, Mr. Becker has maintained affiliation with the Authors Guild and serves on the advisory board for the Environmental and Energy Study Institute in Washington, D.C. Attributing his success to his mentors, Mr. Becker is proudest of making it as far as he has in his career without a formal college education. He is also proud of his service in Vietnam and his creative output. In his spare time, he enjoys fly-fishing.
