Title: Business Development Manager
Company: ABB
Location: Bloomington, Illinois, United States
Carlton E. Potts, a business development manager at ABB, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of business development.
Drawing on over 25 years of expertise in process implementation and project management, Mr. Potts has garnered distinction through his role at ABB, a technology leader in electrification and automation. Well-regarded for his ability to consistently identify large end users, as well as his practice experience in developing optimal sales practices, fostering inter-organizational collaboration, implementing effective market strategies, and increasing sales, he previously worked in similar capacities at the Gates Corporation, the NORMA Group, Nachi America Inc., Rexnord Industries LLC, the Bearing Headquarters Company, and Applied Industrial Technologies, where he began his career as a management trainee in 1997. Throughout the course of his career, Mr. Potts is most proud to have particularly distinguished himself at Rexnord Industries, where he was able to thrive in the midst of an economic recession and won recognition in 2015 as the top-performing salesperson for the company.
Before venturing onto his vocational path, Mr. Potts studied at Purdue University, where he attained a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1997. Following this accomplishment, he attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign several years later and graduated with a Master of Business Administration in 2015. In accounting for his subsequent success, he largely credits the lessons imparted to him by his parents, who instilled in him a solid work ethic and an aversion to mediocrity. Looking toward the future, Mr. Potts hopes to accept more roles in organizational leadership, and to continue serving as a mentor on behalf of those who may seek to follow his example and pursue similar career paths.
