Gale Mitchell Hinson, MSW, Retired Clinical Social Worker Supervisor, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in social work.
Now retired, Ms. Hinson led an esteemed career as a social worker for more than 40 years. She began her professional pursuits as a licensed clinical social worker at the Nassau County University Medical Center from 1973 to 2002, after which she worked as a licensed clinical social worker with the State University of New York from 2002 to 2007. From 2007 to 2013, Ms. Hinson was a clinical supervisor at the Nassau County Correctional Center, and from 2013 to 2018, she shared her knowledge as an adjunct faculty instructor at Adelphi University. From 2005 to 2020, she was a chaplain with Marketplace Chaplains.
To prepare for her career, Ms. Hinson graduated from Molloy College with a Bachelor of Social Work. In 1986, she earned a Master of Social Work from Adelphi University. Alongside her formal degrees, she is a Certified Criminal Justice Specialist and a Certified Social Worker in New York. For her professional accomplishments, Ms. Hinson has been recognized for Exemplary Commitment to Volunteerism and was included in Who’s Who Among Human Services in 1998. Further, she is the recipient of the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and the Marquis Who’s Who Humanitarian Award. Among her achievements, she is incredibly proud of the relationships she built with her patients. To keep abreast of her career field, Ms. Hinson is a member of the International Society of Female Professionals.
