Alan L. Ansell, EMC, Retired Director at National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE), has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in athletics administration.
With decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Ansell has excelled as the examination chairman for the Athletic Equipment Managers’ Association since 1993. During this time, he found much success as the director for the National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) between 2006 and his retirement in 2019. Likewise, he began his career as the coordinator of athletic facilities for Bishop’s University from 1976 to 2007. He was additionally active as a coach for the women’s ice hockey team at Bishop University for 20 years as well as the commissioner for the Quebec Women’s Intercollegiate Hockey League for six years. Among his many achievements in his field, Mr. Ansell is incredibly proud of authoring a safety publication for Football Quebec and rewriting the Football Canada Safety Manual on two occasions.
To support his professional endeavors, Mr. Ansell completed undergraduate coursework at Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont, and Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, Quebec, Canada. As a testament to his exceptional efforts, he was recognized as the Athletic Equipment Manager of the Year by Athletic Equipment Managers’ Association in 1996. Moreover, he has been a three-time recipient of the Ansell Cup and was presented with the Ray Alman Award from Bishop University. Attributing his success to his ability to pay forward the opportunities previously granted to him, he was drawn to his field by his own experiences as an athlete, having competed as a baseball and softball catcher as well as an ice hockey goalie. Looking toward the future, Mr. Ansell aims to remain healthy while continuing to play golf in his spare time.
