Brett Douglas Born

Title: Production Accountant
Company: FX Productions LLC
Location: Altadena, California, United States

Brett Douglas Born, a production accountant at FX Productions LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the entertainment industry.

Motivated by a powerful work ethic, Mr. Born has distinguished himself through his work at FX Productions LLC, where he has served as a production accountant since 2019. In this capacity, he tracks budgetary costs, works to maximize the benefits of tax incentive programs, and oversees payroll, among other financial tasks. Hailing from nearly 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Mr. Born previously served as a production accountant at NBCUniversal Media and Warner Bros. Entertainment, having begun as a production controller with ProdCo Inc. in 2008.

Coming of age in California, Mr. Born later moved to Texas, where he studied psychology, radio and television at Texas Tech University. After receiving two undergraduate degrees in 1992, he returned to California and pursued a career in the film industry. Though his passion for screenwriting had grown alongside such visionary films as “Star Wars,” “Jaws,” and “Indiana Jones,” he elected to support himself with work in the accounting field while exploring his talents as a writer. Leveraging his talent for numbers, Mr. Born ultimately found success in both areas – in addition to his success as an accountant, he has worked as a writer for the “Power Rangers” series of TV shows, and has recently been hired to write a historical fiction script centering on the story of Lee Harvey Oswald.

Among his most cherished accomplishments, Mr. Born is proud to have contributed to the success of “Little America” and “The Sterling Affairs,” both of which faced difficult situations and whose initial budgets were not sufficient to complete production. From working with the producers to reviewing daily costs and extrapolating the outcome of the project, he is gratified to have ensured that both shows could finish on time and on budget. Likewise, he was overjoyed to work on the “Power Rangers” series, which went on to achieve enduring popularity. Having watched as the initial generation of fans came of age and continued to feel great enthusiasm for the show, Mr. Born draws a great sense of fulfillment from his contributions to a formative pillar in the childhood of millions of viewers.

Within the next five years, Mr. Born looks forward to producing a horror film, and has recently begun considering his options for independent financing. Making full use of the lessons he has learned across more than 30 years in the industry, he anticipates success in the days to come.
