With nearly 20 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Waldron has excelled as executive director at Genesys Works since 2021. He began his career at Marathon, Incorporated as a contract sales specialist and project manager from 2007 to 2008 and a senior contracts manager from 2008 to 2010. He continued his career at ICLEI as a tools and technical innovation project associate from 2010 to 2011. He served at Life Pieces to Masterpieces as director of development and grants from 2012 to 2014 before being promoted to executive director from 2014 to 2016. He garnered a stellar reputation as director of student services at Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School from 2016 to 2021 and as an adjunct professor for nonprofit management and social innovation at the University of Maryland since 2021.

Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Waldron pursued an education at the University of the District of Columbia where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in business management in 2008 and a Master of Business Administration in international business in 2011. He continued his academic efforts at the University of Maryland, graduating with a Master of Arts in education, with a specialization in minority and urban education, in 2020. Additionally, he is a graduate fellow of the United Nations Association of the National Capitol Area. Beyond these credentials, he holds a graduate certificate in education policy and program evaluation from Georgetown University and a certificate of completion in executive leadership training from Leadership Greater Washington. 

Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Waldron has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He has held the position of co-founder of Mentor POST since 2016 and volunteered as a home builder for Habitat for Humanity International between 2010 and 2011. In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Waldron remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a board member of Evolving Minds, and an alumni board member of the College of Education at the University of Maryland and the University of the District of Columbia. He maintained involvement as a member of the Kellibrew Network and was a graduate fellow of the United Nations Association of the National Capitol Area in 2011.

In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Waldron has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was a recipient of the “Community Heroes” recognition by Capital One in 2020 and a finalist for the DC Mayor’s Office on Latino Affairs Education Award in 2017. He was presented with the Monumental Pioneer Award by Amtrak in 2016, the Ron H. Brown Distinguished Leadership Award in 2015, and holds a certificate of special congressional recognition. In the immediate future, he aims to complete his doctorate degree and publish educational books for underprivileged populations.
