With 45 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Lee has excelled as owner and certified public accountant at Young Lee Accounting Services since 2010. He began his career working at the American Home Shield Corporation, where he served in a variety of roles from 1978 until 2008, including as an assistant treasurer, controller, internal auditor, treasurer and finally, the vice president of finance and taxation. During this time, he was also active as a treasurer of American mortgage services at Compu/Fund Inc. in California from 1982 to 1985.
Mr. Lee began his career as an immigration officer in South Korea before immigrating to the United States in 1971. Before embarking on his professional path, he pursued an education at California State University in East Bay where he earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting.
Mr. Lee specializes in accounting, regulations, and taxation. In his capacity as a certified public accountant and a private accounting tax consultant, he is responsible for reinsurance transactions, the analysis of financial valuation, conditions and forecasting of various businesses, managing federal, multi-state and franchise income taxations, and attaining favorable federal and state income tax settlements with revenue agents.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Mr. Lee has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. Long dedicated to civic advocacy, he has been engaged with several community organizations, including the Rohnert Park Korean Seventh Day Adventist Church, the Redwood Christian Academy and the Hope Foundation. Outside of his primary vocation, Mr. Lee authored “Footsteps and Rise” in 2014.
Mr. Lee is proud of his career and his family. Both of his children are pharmacists and his son-in-law is a California state judge and commissioner in Somona County, California. His daughter-in-law is a nurse, and his grandson is an Olympian.
Mr Lee’s advice is to be open, honest, and have a “clients-first” attitude. Moreover, he advices others to build relationships with clients, be principled, and to improve their knowledge in the field of accounting. He hopes to be remembered as someone who is ethical, has vast knowledge of tax law, and practices it without bias. Looking toward the future, he aspires to eventually commence his retirement.
