Waggoner before serving in the U.S. Army, advancing to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the ordinance branch over the course of 26 years.
To support his professional ambitions, Mr. Burns pursued an education at Northwestern State University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Arts in upper elementary education. He concluded his studies at Pepperdine University, graduating with a Master of Arts in educational administration. Attributing his success to the encouragement of his two God-fearing parents, he was notably presented with a Navy Commendation Medal and an Army Commander Medal in recognition of his military service and was honored as “Mr. Northwestern” at Northwestern University. In 2023, his military career was incorporated into the Library of Congress by Mike Johnson, Speaker of the United States House of Representatives. In the coming years, Mr. Burns hopes to remain healthy while living every day to the fullest and thriving in his present endeavors.
