Colonel Dolas Dale Bain, MPA, vice president at Elmore County Board of Education, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in management consulting.
With nearly 60 years of experience to his credit, Colonel Bain has excelled as vice president of Elmore County School District and the Elmore County Board of Education since 2013. In this role, he has oversight of 12,000 students in 15 schools, attends conferences and board meetings, and attends school events and meetings with teachers and students. In the United States Army, he served from 1965 to 2003 in an array of ranks and positions including Private E-1, Full Colonel, Captain, Commander, Lieutenant, Major, Commissioned Officer, Warrant Officer, and Sergeant First Class.
During his military career, he was deployed to Germany and involved in Operation Desert Storm in which he managed military equipment, and the Kosovo Operation in which he participated in assisting 10,000 refugees. Before embarking on his professional path, Colonel Bain pursued an education at Lee University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration. He concluded his academic efforts at Century University, graduating with a Master of Public Administration in 1995.
Beyond his responsibilities within the field, Colonel Bain has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He held the role of executive director at Leadership Elmore County from 2012 to 2015, and was on the City Planning Commission in Alabama for 6 years. He also contributed to the American National Red Cross.
In addition to his primary vocation, Colonel Bain remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a board member of the Elmore County Board of Education, Leadership Elmore County, the Alabama Association of School Boards, the National School Boards Association, the Military Officers Association of America, the Reserve Organization of America, the Young Men’s Christian Association, and Rotary International.
