Charles R. Matschek, AIA, NCARB, LEED GA, Architectural Consultant at MYP Maquetas, North America and Senior Architect at AM Technical Solutions, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in architecture.

With more than 45 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Matschek has excelled as an architectural consultant with MYP Maquetas, North America in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico since 2019 and a senior architect with AM Technical Solutions in Hillsboro, Oregon since 2023. Additionally active as a facilities architect for corporate services with the Intel Corporation from 2019 to 2023, he previously served as an architect with MEC Engineering from 2011 to 2013, a construction project coordinator for AM Technical Solutions from 2013 to 2015, and a senior project manager for DAY CPM, an Otak Division, from 2015 to 2019. Prior to these positions, he worked for Ankrom Moisan Architects Inc. as an associate architect from 1996 to 2010 and a consulting architect from 2010 to 2011. Mr. Matschek began his career as an architect in San Diego between 1977 and 1981, in Singapore between 1982 and 1983, and in New Zealand between 1984 and 1996.

To support his professional ambitions, Mr. Matschek pursued an education at the University of Oregon, from which he earned a Bachelor of Architecture with a minor in film criticism. In addition to this accomplishment, he became registered as an architect with the California Architects Board in 1981. Furthermore, Mr. Matschek obtained certifications from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and the Motorsport Safety Academy, and as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Associate as well as an International Boarding Officer.

Beyond his primary responsibilities, Mr. Matschek has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his immediate circles. Since 2010, he has contributed to the Cascade Sports Car Club as a driving instructor and coach. During this time, he has additionally been appointed to the board for the Friends of Timberline. He has likewise been affiliated with the Friends of the Historic Columbia River Highway and the Friends of the Portland International Raceway (PIR). Notably, Mr. Matschek completed 10 years of service in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve, advancing to the rank of petty officer prior to his honorable discharge.

Proudly acknowledged by the American Concrete Institute for his exceptional concrete work completed at the Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville, Oregon, Mr. Matschek has been driven by his perseverance, which was emboldened by a series of tragic events during his formative years, his determination, his curiosity and his hunger for success. Among his many achievements over the years, he fondly recalls his many contributions to various commercial mixed-use buildings in addition to his role as an architect for the air operations and training facilities at the Portland International Airport on behalf of Horizon Airlines, a partner within the Alaska Air Group. In the coming years, Mr. Matschek hopes to enter a well-deserved retirement after affiliating his present business with a company catering to a global clientele.
