David J. McGrath, RA, NCARB, Architect at State of Michigan, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in architecture.
With more than 20 years of experience to his credit, Mr. McGrath has excelled as an architect for the State of Michigan since 2006. Prior to this position, he was active as an architectural designer for ITS Technologies from 2001 to 2002, a landscape designer for Terrafirma from 2002 to 2003, and an architectural designer for Architectural Solutions, Ltd. from 2003 to 2006. He began his career as an architectural technician with RC Associates from 1999 to 2001. Mr. McGrath has attributed his success thus far to his strong family, who have helped him to maintain his focus on his professional development.
To support his ambition in the field, Mr. McGrath pursued a formal education at Lawrence Technological University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in architecture in 2000 and a Master of Architecture in 2021. Registered as an architect by the State of Michigan, he was likewise certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and licensed as an individual builder, the latter of which remains a highlight of his career. He also fondly recalls designing a canine memorial project for the Michigan State Police and obtaining Triathlon Medals as a testament to his athletic achievements. Looking toward the future, Mr. McGrath hopes to shift his attention toward independent consulting or designing work in the residential and light commercial space.
