Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Hause pursued an education at the Slovak Girls Academy, now known as the St. Cyril Academy, graduating with a diploma in 1954; her experiences were later documented in a published article in 2023.
In light of her impressive undertakings, Ms. Hause has accrued several accolades throughout her career. Eponymously honored by her children with the establishment of The Helen “Sis” Graham Hause and William A. Hause Fund, she was additionally presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award in Education from St. Cyril Academy, the Distinguished Service Award from the Military Order of the Purple Heart, an Excellence in Community Service Award from the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a Red Cross Award in 2010. She has likewise received recognitions for Outstanding Dedication to the Danville Community and the Danville Area School District from the Danville Area Alumni Association, the Outstanding Service with Danville Head Start Policy Council, and as both the First Lady of the Year by Beta Phi Sigma International and an Outstanding Woman by Columbia and Montour Counties Women’s Conference. Looking toward the future, Ms. Hause hopes to continue dedicating her time and attention to her weekly newspaper column.
