With 30 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Matthews has excelled as the area president for Gallagher Affinity, the third largest insurance brokerage in the world, since 2023. Prior to this position, he was active as the chief executive officer for the MGC Group from 2004 to 2023 and the chairman of the board for AAFBC from 2015 to 2023. He previously served as the senior sales representative for Unum Group from 1998 to 2004. Mr. Matthews began his career as a sales representative with Johnson & Johnson Services, Inc. between 1993 and 1998.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Matthews pursued an education at The University of Kansas, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in management and operations in 1992. He was subsequently certified as a group benefits disability specialist by The National Underwriter Company in 2013. Attributing his success to his hard work, diligence, dedication, and his devotion to remaining up-to-date on the latest developments in the field of insurance, he is incredibly proud to have operated his business in the insurance industry for nearly 20 years prior to their sale to Gallagher Affinity.
