She contributed at Howard University as assistant director for internal communications from 2014 to 2019 and then at BAE Systems as senior communications specialist from 2019 to 2023.
Before embarking on her professional path, Dr. Akabike pursued an education at Daystar University of Kenya where she earned a bachelor’s degree in electronic media communication. She continued her academic efforts at Bethel University before concluding her studies at Howard University, graduating with a PhD in communication culture media. Beyond her responsibilities within the field, she has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her professional circles. She found success with her three written publications and volunteered with multiple organizations including Habitat for Humanity, the Red Cross, Men Impact Change, and her local church.
In addition to her primary vocation, Dr. Akabike remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She was a member of the Public Relations Society. She maintained her involvement with Daystar, sitting on the US Board and was a member of the US Alumni Chapter. In light of her impressive undertakings, she has accrued several accolades throughout her career. She was presented with a Telly Award at Speak the Word International.
